It seems hard to believe that it’s been just one short month since Hwgga Studios opened it’s doors to the public.
In this time, we have hosted 92 people and launched 10 different workshops and events. That’s pretty good going for our first month! And we hope a firm basis from which to grow and develop in conjunction with the local community. We have been compiling and working our way through the suggestions received via our FB page pinned survey. Some like the clothes swap evening or the birthday parties are on the go whereas others such as a Sushi bar may be a bit more tricky to pull off but we never shy away from a challenge!
There have been one or two hurdles to leap and the odd set back with red tape but we are working our way through.
The good news however is that this is well underway and Luxury Slime will be making a much anticipated return to the schedule. Alongside this, there will be regular craft and skills workshops geared towards all age groups and running three mornings/afternoons a week during the school holidays as well as on Saturday mornings.
We are also looking ahead to Christmas, yes I know that seems unthinkable as we swelter in the obscenely lengthy heat wave of the past couple of months. But plan we must...... and ‘A Hwgga Handmade Christmas’ is coming together nicely. On board we have Tara Cork of Perch Upholstery running Felted Wool Hanging Star, as featured in Country Living, Sarah Cross of Studio Edefyn Fibre Company with her chunky knit scarves and Corrina Ann Art teaching Lino Cut Print cards and wrapping paper. Annie Levy will be creating amazing edible gifts and Jayne Griffiths joining us with her stunning floral creations.
And that’s just the beginning! From 1 November there will be sessions running days, evenings and weekends for both children and adults to create beautiful and unique Christmas gifts and decorations.
Of course the regular schedule of knitting, graphic design, photography etc will continue to run throughout.
As always, we welcome any and all suggestions so if you have an idea just drop us a line via email at email@example.com.
Oh and don’t worry, ‘The Greenhouse’ pop up cocktail bar will be back and sporting a new and exciting menu alongside the already firm favourites.
